padre e hijo

There are different dates in the world to celebrate the father’s day. In Spain it was established in 1948, when in a school in Vallecas (Madrid), the fathers complained to the teacher Manuela Vicente Ferrero, that the children would only prepare presents for the mother’s day and nothing for the fathers.

The teacher, understanding perfectly the father’s situation took the initiative and wrote an article in the spanish magazine “el magisterio espanol” which encouraged other schools to celebrate the father’s day. March 19, the day of St. Joseph, was chosen as it represents the earthly father of Jesus. This holiday didn’t have national significance until 1951.

Zapata Jewelers would like to encourage you to celebrate this day with your fathers and would like to help you to find the perfect gift.
